Scanning and Archiving

Scanning

Scanning is an excellent way to reduce expensive storage space and to protect hard-copy files. MIT Copytech can scan your black and white or color original documents and turn them into PDF files for your convenience. We have high-speed, large-quantity scanners to scan large volumes quickly and efficiently. MIT Copytech scans to Adobe PDF format for best compatibility across platforms, and can scan up to 600 DPI for higher resolution needs.

After your documents have been scanned, MIT Copytech can transfer them onto a flash drive or provide a Dropbox link for easy downloading to your own device.

The costs for these services are:

Scan originals to PDF option:

•$.10 per side for any loose, unbound documents in relatively good condition that can go through a machine's feeder.
•$.15 per side for any documents that are bound, fragile, or otherwise require scanning off the glass of the scanner.

Archiving

MIT Copytech is happy to make arrangements to keep documents on file that are of interest to the MIT community and to fill print-on-demand orders and deliver to you.

Copytech archives selected documents for a number of MIT departments, labs and centers. We process print-on-demand requests when required and deliver anywhere on campus. Upon request, we will print and bind archived documents. These finished documents are packaged in house and forwarded to MIT Mail Services for distribution worldwide.
